Ib.

Just played/finished this game called Ib.  Which I’m totally happy about since it was an epic game, but at the same time I’m left wondering how I somehow manage to squirm my way out of almost every studying plan I make.  Oh wells, at least I studied for an hour in the morning, and it’s only 7.30 so theoretically I could study for about another 4 hours.

Anyways, Ib.  So I started playing it without any expectations, I was just kinda bored and browsing through jayisgames when I found it and thought I’d try it out.  One of the tags on the jayisgames article was horror, but another was 16-bit, so tbh all I was expecting was pixellated blood on the floor or something.  I’m super happy I was wrong. :D

So the story goes that you’re a girl with your parents at an art gallery.  You wander around a bit and then the lights flicker and everyone disappears.  You’re prompted to walk into one of the exhibits and then everything gets surreal and freaky.  You don’t do any actual fighting, just a lot of puzzling and running away.  Oh and there’s this guy called Garry who’s hot. Also it’s FREE :DDDD

Honestly, I can’t say Ib was a scary game.  It did rustle my jimmies A LOT, but nothing made me actually shit my pants.  The closest I probably came to it though was in the doll room.  Ohgodpleasenotthedollroom.

This is the doll room. It doesn’t look too bad now because I didn’t want to ruin it for you people who wanna play it. Also imo that purple haired dude is really hot. <3

But yeah, it isn’t cheap creepiness with heaps of jump scares but tends to sort of build up the psychological freakiness of a chapter pretty cleverly.

All in all, a pretty good waste of an afternoon.  I’ve seen three of the five possible endings, and I’ll probably play the other two very soon. :3

(Was just browsing through Tumblr, and although there’s only 3 characters in the game, I’ve already seen 6 different shippings, some with *ahem* non-humans)
